The boxer short originated in the United States where it was first worn by boxers to give them comfort around the waist and ease of movement during bouts.
Sunspel introduced the boxer short as an underwear garment to Britain in 1947 and was responsible for the pair so memorably exposed by Nick Kamen in the Levi’s ‘laundrette’ commercial of 1982.
They continue to remain true to our original designs. Their boxer shorts all have a back panel, rather than centre seam, and they fold lock all seams to avoid itchiness. The fit is loose and comfortable, we use only the finest fabrics. They have always recognized that boxer shorts are special more and consequently they make them available in standard cut and as presented here, the more interesting, long cut.
Long cut boxer shorts made from 100% finest cotton. Sunspel has been making long cut boxer shorts for over 50 years. They were originally developed for our continental European markets. They are nearly 3cm longer in the leg than our standard cut and are designed with a narrow fit to create a stylish tailored look.
